Rutledge

Currently on site, this project proposes the upgrade of what was previously the servants’ accommodation within a large Victorian property to provide modern and contemporary family living within a historic building. The design has been conceived by taking the existing beautiful fabric of the accommodation and building upon it by proposing a restrained and complementary palate of materials.

The existing spaces were dark and now new rooflights flood the space with light, helping the rooms feel more spacious. Bespoke joinery is proposed to delineate space and provide subtle but useful storage, with a hidden child’s delight of a secret crawl space between the two children’s bedrooms.
